He's Sporty at Forty!!

Oh have I been busy lately!  My husband turned 40 and I've had some secrets!  His first secret was that his college best friend and his family came in to spend the weekend with us.  His second surprise was that family and friends surprised him with a backyard cookout birthday party. Here are some shots from the weekend!
Because of the threat of rain we had to move the backyard party to our carport.  Our welcoming garden flag and wreath announced the occasion for the evening!
He loved the Dallas Cowboys when he was little.  He had the lunch box, the trash can, lamp, t-shirts, jersey, and yes, the Dallas Cowboy bathrobe!  So, he HAD to have a Dallas Cowboy cake to remind him of his youth!???!  And yes the picture of him in the cowboy bathrobe sat with the cake!
I had to get a close up of this.  The banner and little footballs were made of tootsie rolls! It was the BEST cake!
The Surprise! (It's not the best "photographer" picture. I was under the shade of the carport and he was in the blinding sun.)
He was thrilled and totally surprised when he saw his brother and nieces were at his party from out-of-town!  Yes, I thought about tattooing my watermark on his rear, just in cause you were wondering.....
This picture is so funny to me.  My child and his friend Lauren are having a serious conversation!
I had a photo album of Chris' growing up for everyone to see.
Love this look as everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to him!  Yes I made him wear a "39 Forever" pin!
I had only one candle on his cake. I wasn't as cruel as my friends were with my cake!
And, our friends.....
A BIG thank you to these two!  Chris' college buddy Sheldon and his wife Mindy.  He keep Chris occupied all day while Mindy and I ran around getting things ready! Let me put a disclaimer on this photo, I wasn't using my portrait lens and I was not in "photographer" mode.  So, this is not my best quality is what I'm trying to say. I'll make it up to them in a couple of weeks when we get together again!
The boys...
My nieces...
 My handsome husband and me!
And the first man I gave my heart too.... my Daddy!
We appreciate all of our family and friends for celebrating this special occasion with us.  From cooking hamburgers to driving 4+ plus hours to get here.  We love you all!

Lots of pictures to show you. I have family sessions, prom pictures, and dance pictures coming up! Stay tuned!!!!
Enjoy- Lydia

The Lesson

It's Spring Break here and my family and I started celebrating the hour we got off from work.  My child put in to go golfing!  So, we packed up his set of clubs and hopped on our neighbor's golf cart and went bumping across the back field behind our house to the club!  I rested under the cool shade of the golf cart as I watched my husband giving this year's golfing lesson.  I know my husband's dad and Papa would have been proud!
So sweet!
And he just missed the hole!

Love how he holds his lips when he is concentrating!
Another quick tip.
It doesn't matter what sport he is playing, soccer, baseball, golf... he always has this smile.  He is just happy to be playing!  Love that spirit!
When all else fails the "Happy Gilmore" approach is always fun!
This outing served it's purpose it helped relax us adults and my child walked away feeling like a champion with his sweet smile!
I am booking up weekends for spring family and senior pictures. If you are interested let me know!
-Enjoy!

Pretty in Pink!

Meet my new friends Abby and Emily!  I met their mama at a wedding I photographed in February, she was one of the bridesmaids.  We met downtown on the courthouse square recently for some springtime pictures.

The girls were pretty in pink in their new Easter dresses!  Abby is the quiet one. She's deep in thought as she watched her sister play around the pool at the courthouse. And, then in the next photograph you see she decided to have some fun herself.  The sun was so bright that day and the wind!  It felt like we were at the beach!

Emily is a hoot! She is came to have fun and play!  I did get this shoot of her thinking of what she was going to do next.  I love capturing children being themselves. It's such a beautiful thing!
These last two pictures I hope the girls will treasure for a lifetime.  I can see these two being best of friends! They were so sweet and adorable. That's one thing I love about being a photographer is meeting new people. This was such a sweet family. If you are ever in Moultrie be sure to eat at their dad's restuarant, Blue Sky Grill!  They've got awesome chicken tenders!!
Thank you girls for a fun afternoon!  Have a Happy Easter!
-Enjoy,
